German Lithograph Prints

Renner and Gustin Family

These five lithographic prints for religious certificates reflect much-copied designs of the Arts and Crafts Movement (1861 – 1896 in England) with intent to recapture spirit and quality of European medieval craftsmanship. William Morris and his associates architect Phillip Webb and painters Ford Madox Brown and Edward Burne-Jones produced metalwork, jewelry, wallpaper, textiles, furniture and books, whose designs were imitated and copied.
