Purpose
North Dakota State University’s Institutional Repository, a service of the NDSU Libraries, collects, organizes, and distributes digital materials produced or maintained by the NDSU community. In addition to providing permanent long term storage of the University’s scholarly works, the Institutional Repository also houses a variety of other selected materials of special significance to North Dakota.
The NDSU Institutional Repository utilizes the DSpace open-source platform initially developed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (http://www.DSpace.org). The Repository resides on a Libraries server, and input of digital objects is the responsibility of interested community members. The community creates and implements collection related procedures.
If you are interested in adding your collection to the Institutional Repository, please contact the Digital Initiatives Librarian or the Systems Office. The librarian will work with you to:
1. Create your community in the Institutional Repository.
2. Choose the fields (metadata: title, author, subject, date, etc.) you would like to use to describe the files (items) in your collection.
3. Deposit and describe your items.
